The aim of the thesis is to explore the characteristics that make Rawi Hage’s De Niro’s Game a postcolonial Bildungsroman and to compare the characteristics of the novel to the characteristics of the postcolonial Bildungsroman demonstrating the significance of trauma in postcolonial Bildungsroman and in Hage’s novel.	et
