The oppurtunities of using episodes from animated movie „Leiutajateküla Lotte“ in the lessons of social studies in primary school. The aim of this bachelor's thesis was to analyze the animated movie „Leiutajateküla Lotte“ and study the usage of its episodes in the lessons of social studies in primary school. The bulk of the workload was dedicated to theoretical materials where the theory of socialisation, description of different roles of male and female in modern society and discussion of childs capacity to destinguish between reality and fantasy were brought out. Furthermore, detailed overview of social studies in primary school is given. Also, social skills and valueeducation, which in the course of the thesis became more important, are added in the last topic. The author of the thesis also examined closely model based study, which supported by the research turned out to be very effective. The models provided in the theoretical part of the thesis could be helpful for the teachers in the social study lessons. The second part of the thesis consists of the description of given animation, „Leiutajateküla Lotte“. To understand the main characters, Lottes place in the society the representation subchapter was brought out. From there it concludes that in Lottes case we have a character with splended behavour. In the animation, different characteristics are brought out by different characters and then placed in everyday situations. In the methods chapter, the author of the thesis examined the most common social skills characteristics and the results which are set in the workprint of the curriculum. Considering these chaprets, social and moral values the author of thesis brought out three episodes with the length, transcription, description, link to national curriculum and suggestions how to use them in the practical work. Author also gave an illustrative lessonsynopsis called „Lets not tell mum!“ („Ärme emale ütle!“). Presented instructions are derived from skills to destinguish between reality and fantasy, from principles of valueeducation and from the importance of social skills. The author felt that she was missing the experience of working with children when choosing the episodes and giving suggestions. This kind of an experience would have given the better ability to choose the scenes which matter to the children and also be entertaining to them. In addition the author could have given better advice for the curriculum work. The main future goal would be to work out the practical working materials for the lessons of social studies in primary school.
