dc.description.abstractThis thesis investigates how ChatGPT, a generative AI tool, can be used to support 8th-grade EFL students in developing their writing skills while fostering critical and independent thinking. The theoretical part reviews recent research on AI in education, language learning, and teaching writing skills. The empirical study examines student experiences through classroom-based tasks, questionnaires, and interviews. The analysis highlights how AI can support writing when guided by thoughtful pedagogy. The discussion reflects on educational implications, limitations, and future directions. The study contributes to understanding responsible AI use in language education.
