Due to the gradual decline in antibiotics discovery and the escalating emergence of antibiotic resistance, treating bacterial infections have become more challenging. This study examines the effect of bacterial physiology on the efficacy of Azithromycin, using fluorescent proteins as tools to track antibiotic inhibition and bacterial growth stage. We found that there is an inverse correlation between bacterial rate of growth and the efficacy of azithromycin to inhibit protein synthesis.et
