Kursuse eesmärk on anda ülevaade suitsiidi olemusest ja suitsidaalse käitumise kujunemise mõjuteguritest. Teadvustada kultuurilise ning ajaloolise tausta mõju suitsidaalsele käitumisele.

Description
Suicide is among the top 20 leading causes of death globally for all ages. Every year, nearly one million people die from suicide. Suicide trend in any region reflects the quality of life, socio-economic and political situation, also public health, stress tolerance of the population, and level of health and social care. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Europe has the world's highest suicide rate and cases are rising among young people. Suicide rate in Estonia has decreased steadily since 1995. But only few years ago it was one of the highest in the world.
