Abstract
It is agreed that we have to teach language and its culture together. The aim of the
current MA thesis is to create learning materials for teaching culture in FL lessons. The
materials introduce practical situations from everyday life and are meant for Year Eight
and Nine students. The created learning materials should prepare learners to communicate
in intercultural communicative situations. Additionally to developing students’ cultural and
language competences, the materials promote reflectional and ICT skills. The collection is
designed as a WebQuest taking into consideration the Task-Based approach. Moreover, the
materials are digitalised and suitable for both: contact lessons and distance learning.
