Abstrakt

The aim of the thesis was to encapsule living bacteria into functional biomaterials using two different methods: mono- (Escherichia coli Nissle, Lactococcus lactis) and coaxial (Esche-richia coli with Timer plasmid) electrospinning (ES). The quality analysis of biomaterials was based on bacterial viability and fiber morphology and consequently, the most optimal parameters for these methods were established. The addition of lyoprotecant trehalose dihy-drate or Casamino acids before ES increased fiber diameters and only slightly improved the bacterial viability. Notably, the encapsulation of bacterial cells in the solution into the fibers increased the fiber diameters and their concentration affected the electrospinnability of the solution.
