dc.descriptionChanges in a telecasting series „Muusikaelu“ / „Muusika ja elu“ / „MI“ in the years 1998 – 2009 The aim of the bachelor thesis „Changes in a telecasting series „Muusikaelu“ / „Muusika ja elu“ / „MI“ in the years 1998 – 2009“ is to chart and analyse what are the main changes this series has went through during the eleven seasons it been aired. This is a qualitative study. First I have analyzed the text of these series on the basis of its transcription and its video recordings. In the second phase of the study I made interviews with the five chief editors of this telecasting. This thesis analyses the series through three main subjects: interviewees, focus and visual language. · who are the interviewees and what is their role and function in this broadcasting · where is the focus placed in the features of this telecasting series · how is the visual language, how has it changed The main aim is to analyse the changes, trying to find a reason why they have occurred and what larger media related issues they reflect. „Muusikaelu“ / „Muusika ja elu“ / „MI“ is a cultural telecasting series about Estonian music life The study proved that when “Muusikaelu” started in 1998 it focused on the events of classical music scene, where as now the series is almost a TV-magazine type of show, which represents different music genre including pop, rock, folk, classical, alternative and new music. The series has had four big changes in the eleven broadcasting seasons, they are all marked with a new editor and a host.en
