dc.descriptionThe aim of my thesis is to map out and analyze the debate on the theme of alienation, which became relevant in Soviet Estonian society in the latter half of the 1960s. The debate arose because it was noticed that the younger generation of Estonian writers (among them Arvo Valton who I focus on) attribute the elements of alienation to the characters in their literary works. Some critics considered this tendency to be problematic because in the marxist-leninist ideology of the Soviet Union alienation was usually connected with capitalistic Western societies.en
dc.description.abstractBakalaureusetöö keskendus 1960. aastate teises pooles Nõukogude Eesti ühiskonnas esile kerkinud võõrandumisteemalisele debatile, mille põhjustas väidetavate võõrandumise elementide olemasolu Arvo Valtoni novellides. Töö eesmärgiks oli vastata kolmele küsimusele: kas Arvo Valtoni novellides saab täheldada võõrandumisele viitavaid tunnuseid; missugused tingimused võisid panustada võõrandumise ilmnemisse Valtoni novellides ning missugused võisid olla need tegurid, mis aitasid kaasa Eduard Pälli ja Rem Blumi erinevate seisukohtade kujunemisele.et
