The present thesis consists of the translation of four short stories as well as the epilogue and prologue from Ray Bradbury‘s collection of short stories titled The Illustrated Man. It is followed by an analysis of the translation of discourse markers appearing in the text. The analysis is comprised of theoretical overviews of specific discourse markers detected in the source text, followed by a discussion of the discourse markers‘ function and meaning in the source text and describing and evaluating the translation solutions.et
