dc.description.abstract | The Organizational and Professional Identity of Tallinn Schoolnurses. The main goal of this research is to analyze the affiliation of schoolnurses in the Foundation of School Healthcare in Tallinn and to find out what affects their affiliation. The key questions were whether schoolnurses consider themselves as part of the Foundation of School Healthcare in Tallinn, what affects their coherence and what steps have been taken in order to enhance it. The combination of interviews and surveys brought about many significant aspects which prove that these two methods together are effective in this kind of research. The analysis shows that the communication arrangement in the organization has some flaws, for example the lack of direct communication between employers and employees. The Foundation of School Healthcare in Tallinn is a dispersed organization and that is why the management of the organization should consider every possible opportunity to improve the communication. Although improvements have been made, effort from all counterparts is still needed to fluent the communication. To improve the communication in the organization the management will need to focus not only on creating traditions but also on the recognition of their employees. This would raise the standard of work quality and organizational culture, but also motivate the nurses to work at their best. The result of this analysis showed that the management concentrates too much on creating formal instruction instead of focusing on improving the organizational culture. The schools have also been modest on recognizing schoolnurses. The Foundation on School Healthcare in Tallinn is a young organization still in the process of developing. If the management of the organization is constructive and takes serious steps towards the points that need to be improved, the organization will be successful and employees highly motivated. | en |
