Abstract

The course „Databases“ at the University of Tartu teaches the formulation of SQL queries to students who usually have no prior experience in the field of databases. It is common for people to make mistakes when first learning SQL and the instructors require an overview of these to offer additional support to learners, if needed. The purpose of this thesis was to create a web application for analysing the query errors of students using the logs generated by the PostgreSQL database management system used in the course. The application can analyse logs for an entire group of students and provide summaries of query errors for both the entire group and students individually.
