Peer-Review of the Estonian Research and Innovation System: Steady Progress Towards Knowledge Society

Abstract

The overall objective of the peer-review is to support the development of the Estonian Research and Innovation (RDI) policy and support coordination within European Research Area. However, Estonia is also updating its RDI strategy, and the peer-review outputs will also act as an input to that process. Thus the objectives of the peer-review are to assess the Estonian RDI system within the European context, to raise systemic issues that should be addressed in the upcoming RDI strategy update, to give policy guidance and, indicate best practices that could be implemented in the Estonian environment.
