Abstract

The objective of this master's thesis is to develop a generator and solver for Estonian text-based mathematical problems, utilizing the Estonian Natural Language Toolkit (EstNLTK) toolkit for processing. The application aims to support both the educational process and show capabilities of Estonian natural language processing in the education domain. The application allows users to create and solve mathematical text problems, providing not only the solutions but also a detailed step-by-step explanation. The project also includes user testing of the application and an analysis of the results to gain insight into the strengths and limitations of the created system. Additionally, the thesis analyzes previous similar solutions to understand the capabilities and limitations of currently existing systems.
