Kohortsündimus Eestis

Abstract

Bakalaureusetöö eesmärk on võrrelda kohortsündimust perioodsündimusega Eestis ning selgitada sünnitamise edasilükkamise rolli leitud erinevustes. Töös avatakse teoreetilist tausta, defineeritakse vajaminevaid mõisteid, kirjeldatakse andmeid ning metoodikat ja analüüsitakse tulemusi. Kasutatavad andmed pärinevad Statistikaameti andmebaasidest. Praktilises osas võetakse vaatluse alla sündimuse üldkordaja, viljakuskordaja, summaarne sündimuskordaja ning kohortsündimuskordaja. Võrreldakse summaarset- ning kohortsündimuskordajat. Samuti tehakse simulatsioon uurimaks sünnitamise edasilükkamise mõju kohortsündimuskordajale.

The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to compare cohort total fertility with period fertility in Estonia and to explain the role of postponement of childbirth in the observed differences. The thesis presents the theoretical background, defines necessary concepts, describes the data and methodology, and analyses the results. The data used are derived from the databases of Statistics Estonia. In the practical part, the analysis focuses on the crude birth rate, general fertility rate, the total fertility rate and the cohort total fertility rate. The total fertility rate and the cohort total fertility rate are compared. A simulation is performed to investigate the effect that postponement of childbirth has on cohort total fertility rate.
