The purpose of the game is to give players an enjoyable experience through visual design and to create the feeling of riding a horse through the mountains. Thesis begins with an introduction to the world of mobile- and hyper-casual games. Then the design and implementation of the Cross-Country Horse Run game will be reviewed. Testing was conducted with players belonging to the target audience to assess the quality of the game and provide feedback on problem areas. The purpose of the game is to offer a new gaming experience in its respective genres and improve on the user experience of virtual reality games. An overview of the game’s design and implementation is given. The design of Labour and Duty was made in consideration of the rhythm game genre and the problems of virtual reality as a medium. The game was playtested with potential players to find remaining problems and assess the completion of the goals. The study analyzes similar games and tours that influenced the structure of “Virtual Tour Game” and explores the potential of educational games in learning contexts. The core functionality and technical architecture of the developed environment are described. The thesis provides an analysis of the testing results. The purpose of the thesis was to create a captivating and innovative city-building game by using fundamental principles of game design. The thesis analyses the genre's characteristics and fundamental mechanics. Existing games were examined both for inspiration and to ensure the game's uniqueness. The core mechanics of Steinnriki and their implementation are described. Additionally, the game underwent testing to evaluate its ability to deliver the intended gaming experience. The test results indicate that Steinnriki is indeed an engaging city-building game, however some problematic aspects became evident. The game was made to offer a new but similar experience to the corresponding game genre. Unity game engine was used to develop the game. The game was later tested on potential players to find issues and evaluate the quality of the game. The results of the testing were rather positive, but in the testing process, several problems were revealed that need further development and improvement.
