Human Resource Managers´ internet usage. Nowadays a successful company creates, develops and keeps relations with coworkers, clients and partners. The easiest way to keep these relations and to communicate with these groups is, in addition to telephones, via internet. In 2008 there were about 780 000 internet users in Estonia. Most of people use internet at home but many do so at work as well. There are many professions which include work duties that require the usage of internet. For example Human Resource Managers. The profession that we know only for about last 20 years. The main purpose of this Bachelor´s thesis is to create an image of a Human Resource Manager and to find out how much Human Resource Managers use the help of internet in their everyday work. The purpose is to find answers to the following questions: What are the main responsibilities of Human Resource Manager? How much Human Resource Managers use internet at their workplace? What kind of procedures Human Resource Managers perform in internet? What kind of internet sites Human Resource Managers use when searching for information? Does Human Resource Manager´s age affect the usage of internet? Where Human Resource Managers have acquired her/his professional skills? In order to find answers to these questions I concluded a questionnaire with the help of specific software website www.surveymethods.com. The questionnaire consisted of 27 questions. Questionnaires were sent via e-mail to 254 addressees and I received 54 answers. The research provided answers to all of the questions that were posed. The main results are as follows: Human Resource Manager is mostly a woman. Human Resource Manager has acquired her professional skills at trainings and in the process of her everyday work. Usually Human Resource Manager does not have higher or vocational education in personnel management. The main responsibilities that Human Resource Manager does include compiling documents which concern employment relations, assisting and apprising the leader, keeping herself posted with regulations concerning her work and work arrangement procedures. Human Resource Manager uses internet over 2 hours during a workday and considers her ability to search information as good or very good. Human Resource Manager uses daily e-mail, search engines and msn. For finding information Human Resource Manager uses search engines. For reading – for reading laws she uses www.riigiteataja.ee, for recruitment of new employees www.cvonline.ee and www.cvkeskus.ee and searching information about bureaucratic procedures www.sekretar.ee and www.rmp.ee. The most popular forums among Human Resource Managers are www.pare.ee and www.rmp.ee. Human Resource Manager´s age is not important when using internet. Besides younger people, internet is used also by elder people. Statistics of internet usage in Estonia and in the world generally shows that internet usage has constantly grown. This means that more and more companies are taking their goods and service offers to internet, helping the companies to save their money and providing information for their consumers more conveniently. That is why internet is an important partner also in Human Resource Manager´s work.
