Abstract

The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to study whether socioeconomic indicators such as income and education have had an impact on at which stage colon and rectal cancers (ICD-10 C18 and C20) were diagnosed in Denmark from 2004 to 2018. The study is based on data, which was provided by the Danish Cancer Society Research Center and involved information on 58 217 colon and rectal cancer cases from the period of study. The thesis gives an overview of these two cancer types, its changes and trends during the observed time period, introduces the statistical methods used in the analysis and presents the findings with possible reasons for the results obtained from this study.
