Abstrakt

The aim of this master’s thesis is to develop an integrated teaching material combining mathematics and home economics for teaching menu planning and budgeting in lower secondary school (grades 7–9) and to evaluate its suitability and usability. The study follows a development research approach, resulting in a worksheetbased teaching material. The material was evaluated by four experts and tested with students, and feedback was collected through questionnaires. The results indicate that the material is understandable, practical, and effectively supports the integration of mathematical skills into home economics. Based on the feedback, improvements were made to the material. It can be concluded that the developed teaching material is suitable for use in home economics classes and supports the development of key competences
