Search for freedom in Aphra Behn’s The Rover

Abstract

Aphra Behn was an English playwright popular and influential in the Restoration era. After her death she was largely ingored and has unjustly been left out of the canon of important English writers. This paper analyzes the importance of Behn during the Restoration era and the social issues she tackles in her most famous play the Rover.
