Magistritöös analüüsitakse Eesti Haigekassale saadetud raviarvete põhjal moodustatud patsientide ja neile määratud diagnooside andmekogu. Eesmärk on anda ülevaade kvalitatiivsete tunnustega andmetele rakendatud mudelipõhisest klasteranalüüsist. Töös tuuakse välja andmete klasterdamiseks kasutatud segumudeli kuju. Kirjeldatakse ära EM-algoritm, mida rakendatakse mudeli parameetrite hindamiseks. Lisaks antakse ülevaade integreeritud klassifitseerimistõepära (ICL) kriteeriumist, mille abil leitakse sobivaim segumudel klasterdamiseks. Uurimise alla on võetud psüühika- ja käitumishäiretega ning vereringeelundite haigustega patsiendid. Klasteranalüüs viiakse eraldi läbi iga valitud vanusegrupi jaoks. Tulemustest selgub näiteks, et psühhoaktiivsete ainete tarvitamisest tingitud psüühika- ja käitumishäiretega patsientidest enamuse moodustavad mehed. Vereringeelundite haigusi uurides aga selgub, et kõige rohkem on patsiente kõrgvererõhkhaigustega, mida seejuures nooremas eas isikutel (vanuses 20-49) esineb rohkem meestel kui naistel. Samuti on esinenud noorematel meestel südame isheemiatõvesid ligi kaks korda rohkem kui naistel.

In recent years communication via social media has become more personal and available for every individual or group of people irrespective of their interests. This has enable people express their thoughts, ideas and views freely. Though it brings lots of ease to communication, it also gives rise to discriminatory challenges. Online hate is a major example of such challenge.As these social media users grow, so does the impact of hate speech. Despite the magnitude and growth level of research in this field there is a hug gap in understanding the hate speech and how it affects certain aspects of human life’s e.g race,gender,sexuality, politics. This has prompted researchers to apply techniques like social networks analysis to detect hate groups. But in this research we strongly believe that the content of hate matters as well.Thus in this paper we apply sentiment analysis and topic modelling to understand the discuss of hate as it affect race, gender, sexuality, politics. Our result shows that the content plays an important role in preventing and eradicating discrimination of these platforms.

A monitoring system for instruments used by the group working on remote sensing of at-mosphere in University of Tartu Tartu Observatory was created. The main aim of the system is to monitor ongoing measurements and send a notification by e-mail in the case of instru-ment misbehavior. As a result, the information about malfunction will reach to the operator faster and therefore the caps in measured timeseries will shorten. The system has been built by using the Node.js implementation of JavaScript and is currently monitoring two instru-ments. The first instrument is Bentham DMc150F-U spectroradiometric system, a double monochromator used for spectral measurements of ultraviolet radiation. There is also a dashboard set up for Bentham using freely available Grafana software. The instrument is being checked directly from MySQL database from sunrise to sunset every 15 min. Grafana enables to check the measurements results and alerting has been set for the temperature of the instrument. The second instrument is CIMEL CE318 Sun photometer belonging to NASA AERONET that measures aerosols in atmosphere. This instrument is being checked once a day, at 08:00 UTC. Presence of the measurement file is checked in the controlling computer while the data delivery and error messages are extracted from the AERONET webpage. The architecture of the system enables to add more instruments in the future.

The goal of this Bachelor’s thesis is to create a universal application, that gathers action logs from several applications, saves them and offers an effective way for administrating the data. The universal solution is developed for a client, so the client’s needs are a priority when creating the application. The thesis shows the client’s requirements for the application, presents the technologies used for development and describes the outcome of the thesis.

In dieser Bachelorarbeit wird die Lyrik von Brecht, die nach dem Jahr 1948 geschrieben ist, analysiert. In der Arbeit wir chronologisch vorgegangen, um zu sehen, wie Brecht sich als Sozialist in der DDR entwickelt und wie er den Sozialismus in der DDR entwickeln will. Die Lyrik von Brecht, die in der DDR geschrieben wurde, kann grob gesehen zeitlich und inhaltlich in drei Phasen geteilt werden. Die Analyse stützt sich auf Briefe von Brecht und Sekundärliteratur über das Leben und Lyrik des Dichters, um eine klarere Vorstellung über seine Ideen zu bekommen.
Security Analysis of Tartu Smart Bike Share Android Application

In June 2019, Tartu City Transport launched a smart bike share system, which allows the residents of Tartu to rent bikes for small commutes around the city. A month after the system first launched a privacy exposure was discovered and personal data of the users was leaked. It was not publicly disclosed where the fault had resided, but it was confirmed to have been fixed shortly after the developers were notified. The aim of this research was to analyze the security of the Tartu Smart Bike Share Android app and its communication with the web service. During the course of the research, several security and privacy issues were found, one of which allows any registered user to query information about the location of a bike and its current user. The thesis provides a general description of the system and its underlying architecture, outlines how and which aspects of the app functionality were analyzed and what results were found. Suggestions for improving the security and privacy aspects of the system are also provided.
The Purpose of Marriage in Islam and Christianity: A Comparative Study of Hadiths and the Teachings of St. Augustine

From the study the following knowledge was gained: For Christians and Muslims-marriage originates from God as a means to complement the opposite sexes in psychological and physical comfort. Marriage is also a means of gaining spiritul blessings.  In the hadiths, the Prophet command all Muslims to marry and produce children to populate the lands. - In Augustine’s text, virginity ranked higher than marriage in God’s kingdom. Christ was an example of a celibate priest who dedicated his life in doing pastoral mission on earth according to the will of the Father in heaven.  In the hadith marriage between two opposite sexes can be contracted anywhere without no specific religious ceremony, however, the presences of atleast two witnesses is required. - In Augustine’s text, marriage is a sacrament that can only be contracted in the church before a priest, and with a solemn vow of faithfulness.  In the Hadith, a sane man could divorce his wife and vice/versa if either of the partner fail to satisfy the other. - In Augustine’s text, marriage is indissoluble. Even in bad times couples cannot separate from each other for whatsoever reason.  Islam permits polygamous marriage, a kind of practice that allow men to marry upto four women at a time. - In Augustine’s text, a man and a woman are sacramentally bound together in marriage untill death seperate them.  In the Hadith a man may have concubines e.g., sexual relations with his slave woman. - In Augustine’s text, a man can only have one sexual partner e.g., his wife only.

This MA thesis discusses peer feedback and the link between feedback given and feedback used. A growing number of teachers are using formative assessment and its elements in their lessons in Estonia. As it is a relatively new approach, neither students nor teachers feel very comfortable when practising it. The aim of the present MA thesis is to determine the effectiveness of peer feedback in the EFL academic writing context. The thesis tries to answer the questions whether the feedback peers give to each other is useful, whether students use the feedback they get from their peers, and whether students find peer feedback useful.

Cogbug – A Mobile Tabletop Game

This thesis covers the design and development of a mobile version of the tabletop game application to play Cogbug . The thesis starts with a brief overview of mobile games and with background information regarding the physical tabletop version of Cogbug . The thesis continues with the digital Cogbug game specification that was discussed and formulated together with the author of the physical tabletop game (Customer) via requirements analysis. Theoretical research of the tools for development and testing as well as practical implementation and product testing form the main body of the thesis. Practical implementation focuses on delivering a Minimum Viable Product with a functioning multiplayer gamemode. The application went through platform and usability testing phases to ensure the quality and stability.
Hackathons for Corporate Innovation – a Longitudinal Study

Hackathons are increasingly popular means for fostering corporate innovation. Despite abundant research on hackathons, outcomes of corporate hackathons are not as well under-stood. We studied 2 editions of a multi-site internal corporate hackathon series to find aspects affecting project continuation in a corporate setting using observations, surveys and interviews. The study also explored differences between the 2 events and their effect on the projects and teams. The research studied connections between project continuation and team member’s location in the context of cross-site teams. We found multiple aspects that possibly affect project continuation, including preparation, projects relation to existing assets and delivering functional prototypes. We also saw some changes between the hackathons affecting project continuation and participant’s perception of the event. Finally, we found indication that having a multi-site hackathon team may not influence project continuation.
