Saadud tagasiside
võimaldas tuvastada digiõppematerjalide esialgsete versioonide puudusi ning nende põhjal
veebirakendust täiustada.
Trigonometry is an important part of upper secondary school mathematics, but solving trigonometry problems can be challenging for students, as it requires knowledge of formulas, an understanding of mathematical relationships, and the ability to apply them. Digital learning materials can support independent practice and review of trigonometry by providing students with automatic answer checking and feedback. The aim of this master’s thesis was to develop digital learning materials for practising and reviewing trigonometry and to obtain feedback from practising teachers and students on the quality of the materials, as well as suggestions for their improvement. An action research study consisting of two consecutive cycles was conducted as part of the master’s thesis. The development of the digital learning materials was based on the ADDIE model, while the LORI criteria were used to assess their quality. As a result, an Estonian-language web application containing nine trigonometry tests was created. The tasks are generated automatically, meaning that students receive a new version of a test each time they take it. The web application allows students to check their answers, receive feedback, and save detailed results. In the first cycle of the action research, the developed digital learning materials were evaluated by nine mathematics teachers, while 41 students participated in the second cycle. The evaluations provided by both teachers and students were generally positive. Based on their suggestions, the instructions were clarified, the visual elements and assessment system were improved, additional data were added to the results file, and two modes, “Practice” and “Assessment”, were added. In “Practice” mode, students can use hints and, after submitting an incorrect answer, see the correct answer and a recommendation. In “Assessment” mode, feedback is limited to indicating whether the answer is correct or incorrect. The feedback received helped to identify shortcomings in the initial versions of the digital learning materials and improve the web application accordingly.
