Abstrakt

The study examines the priority of sharing positive events in a close relationship and the influence of supporting the partner on a relationship satisfaction while one shares personal positive event. The experimental group read the information about importance of sharing good events and reacting actively and constructively to partner´s capitalization attempts. Participants were also asked to rank their priorities in a relationship. The study showed that people consider partners´ support during negative events to be more important than during positive events. Moreover, the post-test of relationship satisfaction among experimental group did not show an important increase. However, the study found that active-constructive responsiveness was associated with higher relationship satisfaction both in pre-test and post-test condition. Keywords: relationship satisfaction, positive emotions, capitalization, emotion sharing, active-constructive responding
